The core event opens at noon! Food vendors, the spring market, and family activities are all part of the main event window, so this is when the day really starts buzzing.
The toddler hunt is for ages 0-4 and has its own easier area with 1,000 eggs! It is designed to feel safer, calmer, and easier for younger kids to enjoy.
This is the big headline moment of the day with 15,000+ eggs! If you are deciding when to be on site, this is one of the biggest reasons to arrive early and stay ready.
The city-wide medallion hunt starts after the main hunt, with clue drops posted live on the website every 30 minutes until the eggs are found. It is one of the most exciting parts of the whole day!
The Golden Egg Jackpot drawing happens later in the afternoon! Tickets are $5, the winner takes 50% of the raffle sales, and the winner does not need to be present.

The Golden Egg just got even better! EcoHunt 2026 features the Golden Egg Jackpot 50/50 raffle, which means one lucky winner takes home half of the total pot. And with the turnout we're expecting, this could get big!
The medallion hunt hides three eggs around Royalton: Green, Red, and Golden! Clues go live every 30 minutes on EcoHuntMN.com. The Green Egg includes $25 cash and a basket, the Red Egg includes Wicked Woods and Triple S prizes, and the Golden Egg is the $500 Merten Family Motors grand prize.
As part of EcoHunt 2026, we're giving away pollinator-friendly wildflower seed mixes to help bring more life to our community! This project is part of our EcoHunt [EGG] Environmental Giveback & Growth initiative and helps carry the mission of the event beyond just one day.
This custom blend includes hardy annual and perennial wildflowers chosen to support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, add natural color to yards and gardens, and grow with minimal effort. The seeds are safe, non-treated, and selected for strong growth in our region, making them a great fit for both beginners and experienced gardeners.
We bought 5 pounds of seed for this year's mix, which likely works out to hundreds of thousands of seeds overall, plus over 500 seed packets to hand out during the event! Whether someone plants a small patch or a full garden, every seed helps create a healthier and more vibrant environment.
The EcoHunt Clean Sweep Challenge turns the medallion hunt into a chance to give back too! Pick up trash in the Royalton area during EcoHunt and keep it going through Earth Day for a shot at cash prizes while helping leave the town better than we found it.
